OK, now that's funny.

But where do I exaggerate? it is nio exaggeration to say that the citizens of the CSA were forced to surrender their personal rights to their central government. (The draft).

They were forced to surrender their states rights to the central government (take-over of state militias).

They were forced to give up their property rights (confications and requisitions of farm goods, animals etc).

Big Money owned their governemnt and looked after their own interests which they put ahead of their nations needs (as proved by their refusal to allow their slaves to be drafted even at the cost of Southern Independence).

The Tea Partyiers right now have been taken over by Big Money, and they will find, like the citizens of the CSA found, that Big Money cares only for its bottom line, not a whit for the interests of the nation. If the Tea Party is not now in the pocket of Big Money, then just who is spending all that big money for the candidates? Untold heaps and heaps of money that is most certainly not coming from the "little guy" grass roots people.

And here is what you will get in return for it: less government regulation, which they claim to want, which will mean for the average Tea Partier no one to watch what goes into their food, their water, their land. Big Money wants less regulation for a bigger bottom line. So we will have less regulation on oil companies which will mean more spills, less regulation of banking and finance which will mean more speculation that drives the prices of electricity up (think Enron and California in the 90s) and gasoline (which surges in price every time futures speculators run amok) and you'll be eating more tainted eggs and meat and produce because Big Money will make sure there are less inspectors looking out for the consumer. More mine workers will die, more factories will be shipped overseas, and the ones that remain will pay their workers less.

I wonder if any here remember what the choking skies in LA looked like in the 1970s? Also in the 1970s there was barely anyone in the US who had ever seen a living bald eagle except in Alaska, and then in extremely limited numbers. Anyone here remember the Love Canal? It is very typical of what will happen when big Money is given free hand. This is not hyperbole, it is what is all reality.
The chinese have a de-regulated business atmosphere, and the most deadly polluted atmosphere on earth. Toxic lakes and rivers is their legacy right this minute, but it is good for Big Money who will move on leaving the most incredible mess behind.

Want to look up something? look up the Cuyahoga river. It was so polluted by unregulated businesses that it literally caught fire. it happened repeatedly over several decades, the people were powerless until they were finally able to get the government I think in the 70s under Nixon, to finally sterp in do something to make businesses take responsibility. The EPA was created to make sure this stuff didn't continue.

Big Government is alot more transparent, easier to control, andmore responsive to the ordinary people than Big Money ever will be , especilly the Big International Money. Look to the funding Tea Party. The plain proof is on your TVs nightly right now, the only hyperbole is the spending on the ads.

ey Alan PS. Thank you for realizing my focus is on Southern sources, Southern voices, first hand in their own words. I don't care a whit what a Yankee source says. The CSA congress betrayed its own people, and failed to gain the Independence its people bled for. Your Oates had it absolutely correct: No power on earth would have stopped the CSA from gaining Independence but by the CSA politicians themselves.

Those CSA political power was lock stock and barrel in the hands of Big Money. Today's Tea Party now is too. Follow the money.
