I said even abolitionist Union soldiers were physically repelled and appalled by the contrabands coming into their ranks. Their noble thoughts fleeing before the reality they found. I make no issue with your post, except for the most part it shoots wide of the mark that my comments were speaking about.
It seems to me the only real "Red Herrings" here are issues raised in replies in answer to things I never said, or ever contested. It is as if I mentioned something about deep sea fishing, and the answers all come back telling me I am wrong about everything I said about skydiving.
