Who disagrees that the Confederacy could have won the war had certain things played out differently. For example, what if Robert E. Lee had pursuaded President Davis to concentrate Southern armies rather than disperse them? What if Confederate leaders had pursued offensive strategy/defensive tactics rather than the other way around? What if the Confederate Congress had mustered the political backbone in 1863 to pass real legislation designed to recruit among slaves and freemen - real legislation, not the phony manure they turned out in March 1865.
