I agree. I know it is not perfectly scientific but looking at this data I have to believe it points to a fact. I have in my reference for Winston County, Ala. 1860 Election Returns.

Breckinridge 203

187 to 203 ...very close, close enough to tip the balance, and very different than Jones County... where as in Winston County nearly 47% of 390 voted against Breckinridge, in Jones County only 26% of 360 voted against Breckinridge. Where it is very well documented that Winston was pro-union and actually officially supported the Union cause, Jones County is only pro-union by the word of a deserter, thief and murderer.
