Exactly. Too often, the lofty brains have overlooked or ignored snippets of information that have been either in newspapers, diaries, journals or passed down by word of mouth. The 'hints' of something out there still to learn have been in the air for any ear to pick up. Some choose to close the ears and mind. If it goes against ones 'agenda' they are for sure not going to mention it. If it goes against their moral fiber it's going to be ignored.
So far, in just my own wanderings through the information highway to gather news of something I wish to know more about I find there is a very well placed detour on some areas where the info is stored. There are authors who have gained national attention and are quoted every time you see something on the WBTS on tv. I do understand they have spent years digging through papers and reports to put together a book. Did they get all of the information? Don't really know. Did they maybe ignore information? Don't really know. Did they want their 'side' of the story to come out clean? Yes. Editing is very important when one is selling a story.
Then you have the memoirs of the Confederate officer. Plenty of them. One has to understand, these were written and/or ghost written well after the shooting stopped. Given the fact that most were Southern born, even after the war, it was still not PC to included a few bits of information. Nope, not in the post war South. Here is another case for the 'clean' ending of a book.
Today we have SCV and UDC chapters all over the place. Some are very active but it's a full time job when they get into the projects they are in. There are SCV chapters who are buying land to fly a flag are out there raising money to do so and awareness on the reason they are doing it. Some chapters are helping in other ways to preserve what land is left. It seems only the Southern born consider hallowed. Wait a minute, scratch that, Some Southern Born consider it hallowed. A few igmo's would rather see a Walmart. Every family tree contains a moron. We're seeing a lot of them being turned out of the closet now.
