Could you please explain the reason for putting the word "Creoles" in parentheses after "free men of color." You are not suggesting that the terms are synonymous, are you? Are you saying that the State of Louisiana only allowed free men of color with Creole blood to serve in militia commands, as opposed to, say, free men of color with Scotch-Irish blood, or Anglo-Saxon blood, or Polish blood, or what?
