For those who don't know, John D. Winters is another of the recognized authorities on Louisiana in Confederacy. Along with Art Bergeron, John D. Winters was another scholar who had more than a passing interest in Louisiana Confederate military records. Both gentlemen did their work carefully and well, so that anyone can check their sources.
If Art said he has fifteen documented cases of men of color who served in the Confederate military services, that's good enough for me. It would be nice to know who they were. Do you have any information on that?
