I visited Fort Sumter a couple of month back. The Park Ranger tour guide was giving the history of the construction of the fort to about 75 people. He made the comment that the fort had been built of a man made island create out of stones hauled in from the Northeastern states. He then made the comment that in fact the tourist were "Standing on Union soil". At this point over half of the crowd made a loud discused sound like they were standing in a puddle of goop.

Like Yosemite Sam said in an old Bugs Bunny cartoon, 'My boots done touched yankee soil, I've gotta burn my boots.'

I love the South Carolina People. They still seem like they are ready to seceed again.
