Okay, let's try this. It is the beginning of the war and in the newspaper it says, "the first company of cadets recruited in the state of South Carolina has just been formed in the city of Charleston". Does this suggest that there are other companies of cadets in other states? I don't think so. It says nothing other than this is the first company of cadets recruited in the state of South Carolina! It doesn't say when this occurred, how it occurred, how many such companies, if any, existed in other states. Extrapolating any other information from this simple statement is inaccurate, unprovable and misleading.
