That is funny. A while back I was at Ft Barrancas and one of the Rangers was about to give a demonstration to some tourist. I had seen this before and the Ranger at that time used the Blue uniform to inform. This Ranger was walking toward the parade ground as I was leaving. I told him I hoped he was using the "correct" uniform for his little show. He winked at me and said, "Don't worry. It's gray." He had a heavy Southern accent too.
