I had ancestors on both sides and I'm sure they felt the same. Might point out that whites aren't the only one's who have been racist. The Black settlers that went to Liberia felt themselves much superior to the indigenous people. In fact they found them making slaves of the tribal people into the 1920's and maybe 30's. Racism has been worldwide. How my ancestors felt doesn't bother me at all...guess I don't have that white guilt a lot of folks do.
