War Eagle, Pam!

My first time to listen to an Auburn football game took place on Sept. 30, 1961. In that day and time most people followed college football on radio, which still remains my preferred medium. First score I recall was Tennessee 21, Auburn 7, 3rd quarter. Auburn had trailed in the 2nd quarter 21-0. The game being played in Knoxville, I recall my uncle saying that Auburn had no chance.

At that moment I became an Auburn football fan. Auburn came from behind and won in Knoxville, 24-21. Sort of like last Friday, huh?

In 1962 Auburn trailed Tennessee 14-0 but still managed to win, 22-21.
In 1963 Tenneseee had a 12-0 edge on Auburn and still lost, 23-19.

One of my favorite Auburn-Tennessee games took place at Legion Field, Nov. 9, 1968. I was there that night! Tennessee came in undefeated and a heavy favorite, but Auburn won, 28 - 14.
