I agree that some posters can be aggrivating, but no purpose is served by becoming angry. People are going to believe what they want to believe, present company included. If somebody wants to believe that many of the Confederate officers and men involved in Pickett's Charge were slaves, it's not my goal in life to pursuade them otherwise. I'll give it a shot, but there's a limited amount of time in the day. Besides, scripture tells us not to cast our pearls before swine.
A gentleman who has spent much of his adult life debating people on political opinion once had this to say: if your opponent is really determined to make a fool of himself, then by all means, get out of the way. I don't follow that sage advice often enough.
People making certain kinds of statements, such as this soldier can't be Indian because he has a 'white' name, must really be disturbing. However, there's really no point in getting emotionally invested in other people's opinions. "The wrath of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God."
We really should be doing this for entertainment and education, not to change other people's opinions. Pray about it, and I hope you'll be able to assure your sweet wife that you're not going to let certain kinds of remarks on the message boards disturb your peace of mind. I for one would like you to continue posting whenever you feel moved to do so.
