The problem(s) today is the general public can have little or no influence on how things transpire in Washington. The chasm is too deep and wide. That's why the gap between "haves" and "have nots" continues to grow. Government is out of control. I think that was the issue in the 1850's. A single person that was well off in those days could have an influence on his local and state governments. And in turn lean on those on Capitol Hill. Issues today have become so global that no one person can have any influence. Not even a President. "The Machine" is already running and can't be idled or accelerated by one, or even a few. Today's wars are about economics in a totally different way than they were just 150 short years ago. News travels at the speed of light. And the reaction to that news travels back at the same speed but with more affect. We have become what we most feared. And there is no turning back. We are so far from even what happened in the 1930's and 40's that it is mind boggling. It's time for folks to learn to care for each other and kick these idiots out of office that we pay for. That's what the WBTS was about. Overwhelming central government. Well....here we are. Congratulations Mr. Lincoln. You won. Now what?
