Did you know who Marshall L. Derosa was before your posted this excerpt or is this your first experience or knowledge of this "controversial" professor?

Are you aware he is, if not now, a former "League of the South" member? He is a favored guest and guest speaker at non-constitution related, SCV and Confederate Heritage get togethers.

He even ran for the senate in Florida as the nominee of the Constitutionalist Party. Unfortunately, he got afoul of some of the election laws and was dropped from the race.

Dr. Derosa, on this and other issues related to the causes of the Civil War and his interpretation of the Confederate constitution definitely holds a "fringe" and, I'll repeat controversial view.
