Re: Has PC Blurred Interpretation of the CW?

"The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten. Calvin Coolidge", or just remember what Pogo said.

PC has not only blurred interpretation on historical matters, it's shaping a new form of society that many understand is well under way and are powerless to stop the train. Political Correctness is what is killing the United States. It is choking it and it won't be long until there's just no life. Zombies. It's no accident that the history textbooks have shortened the history of the first 100 years to a page. Then there's a paragraph, maybe 2 on the World Wars then, as so many who were taught with these very same books, the "real" History began in the 1960's. This is no accident. This is PC at it's best. I'm not going to even mention the lack of 'another point of view' in any of it because it does not matter. It cannot be changed in a wide scale. This is why the very best gift a parent can give their children is information to show there are other ways to see things and reasons some wish to change or ignore events that may threaten or, perish the thought, disprove, the accepted 'version'. Where are the books we read as children? Johnny Tremain was a Caldecott Winner. It's still in print, but not flying off the library shelves. Rifles for Watie is flying and it's being read, by choice not assignment, in elementary schools. If the PC Police ever show up for an audit on the choices and the books that have the largest turnover rate, I'd bet they would pull that one. Wimpy Kid would stay. The free thought part of life we have enjoyed is being chipped away.
The methodical work by a number of people is showing success. The lack of any real 'connection' to the history of our nation and the Southern connection by Southern descendants is blatant and scares the beJesus out of me. The total lack of respect and most is due to ignorance because they were never taught to shut up while a prayer is being said, not to mention those who would file a lawsuit because a prayer is being said. The unbelievable things some of us, at our age, neve imagined would happen that has turned into a horror movie. Take Christ out of Christmas?!! I do not think so. Last year, we had a HS graduating class one county over. Now, a couple of kids, who seem to have been influenced by non locals in a 'legal defence group we all know and distrust, had filed a lawsuit on prayer or mention of the Chirstian faith. The Principle and anyone connected to the school was told they could NOT mention Chirst, pray before a football game that had been at tradition for mnay years all because it "offended some offal". On graduation day, the entire Senior class marched to their seats. All of them had white crosses on the top of their caps. The students themselves (both Black and White) had decided to to that and found enough adhesive tape to do it. When that happened, some outsiders, such as a group who shows up to protest anything connected to the CW or civil rights tried to make it racist. Now we had two PC Police Departments going balistic but it was nothing to do with racism or Southern Heritage but all to do with religous freedom.

They ignore millions of people in this large nation because they tried something they felt was in thier best interest, though failed at horrible cost. The PC version is all doctored up with unflattering information on the CW. It's for sure a product that proves the "victor writes the history books" theory.
So yes, PC is the enemy. Those who do not understand that are the lemmings. We're heading for some big trouble and it seems no one has enough support when it comes to the true story.
Since the "True Story" of our Southern ancestors has been distorted, condemned and gets little mention (except for the part about slavery) how can we not see it's going downhill fast?
