Agreed. Bridges' Cogburn looks like the photos of Quantrell's Raider's reunions from the late 19th C.

As much as I enjoyed the Duke's version, this one feels more realistic. Even though shot in New Mexico, the scenery feels more like eastern Oklahoma than the original. Heard an interview with the Coehn Bros. on NPR last week. They were not remaking the old movie, they were making a movie from the book and, although they had seen the movie when they were kids, they did not watch it again when making this one. Much like "I am Legend" was an adaptation of the same book that "The Omega Man" was made off of. Definitely worth seeing.
