Good story, Pam. You and Edward are both correct about our thinking on the Duke. I haven't seen the Billy Bob Thornton version. Did Davy get captured alive like he very likely did, if you believe the Mexicn version? I was always glad he went down fighting in Fess' and John's portrayals. I liked the Horse soldiers, too. My father in law, who was only twelve years older than me (He was the LST sailor at Okinawa), was as much a fan of the old westerns as I am. When I'd walk in his house in Columbus, and he was watching one, I could see a scene or two, and tell him the one we were watching. He got a kick out of that! Stan
