There is the possibility that in Florida at least, they went South. There was still a population of Seminole and others in the lower end of the state. During those times, much of the state was still wilderness and it woudn't be difficult to hide. The tribes left, were comprised of Seminole, Creek, and escaped slaves. Many escaped in the early years before the Indian Wars that Old Andy took such pleasure in and were accepted without a problem.
