I agree with you Edward. The President can issue orders to emplement laws passed by Congress, but they often overstep their grounds. This includes all of them since Lincoln. The Article cited on the site I gave you was listed as the source of Presidential power; a mighty thin wall to hide behind. Some executive orders can be beneficial, such as Truman desegregating the Armed Forces. As it applied only to the miltary, it may have been legal, in his guise as Commander in Chief. But there were no doubt better ways to do it. When Truman tried to take over the railroads to prevent a strike, the Supreme Court ruled against him. Once power is assumed by the President, it is hard to get it away from him. We must watch them like hawks. Stan
