I don't have a problem with a person turning the tables, on those who mean the term "redneck" as an insult, and making it into a badge of pride like Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy. But I am disturbed by the Confederate Battle flag being associated with that view of the southern people being just a bunch of dumb, uneducated, unsophisticated hillbilly hicks and even Mr. Foxworthy and Mr. Cableguy prepetuate that stereotype for their personal profit. For in all humor, for it to be funny, there has to be at least the preception of truth, or fact, in the humor.
After all the Confederate Battle Flag was the banner under which Americans soldiers fought and died under. And who, by an act of the United States Congress, and the acclaim of those American soldiers who fought against them, those same Confederate soldiers, who did fight and die under that banner, were proclaimed to be American veterans no less honorable and to be given the same honors as any other American soldiers who fought in any other war of the United States.
