IF what you are saying is true (and I have no doubts that it isn't the truth) then the sending of federal troops to garrison these arsenals was in fact a federal seizure of state arms intended for the use of the state militias to maintain order.

Now I, even more than ever, understand why the State militias, with or without the governors approval, marched on these arsenals and demanded their surrender.
