Seeing as the "Confederates" are slipping past union pickets with vital supplies for Vicksburg, I wonder if the uniforms they are wearing are not intended to be "Camoflage"? It other words union uniforms, which were common anyway in confederate service.

As we know the union lines encircling Vicksburg were not airtight especially in the swamps to the north. Nor was the naval blockade on the Mississippi River. It is just that large amounts of supplies enough to support the army and the cities population could not get throught.
