On This Divisive Anniversary

I doff my virtual kepi to all the latter-day partisans of the Blue and of the Gray, harkening back to FDR's conciliatory missive to the grizzled combat vets of Gettysburg on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. On this, our nation's most divisive anniversary, I forward this link of Civil War images set to the tune of Ashokan Farewell, arguably the most poignant Civil War tune ever (even though it was created some 140 years later).

I did not see the specific FDR speech I was looking for, but it's probably out there somewhere. This year promises to one of many, many important anniversaries to the posters on this board.
