All this guy had to do was apologize and I would have dropped this, but instead, this jerk offered a flippant and further insulting response, claiming ignorance at the meaning of the highly vulgar reference to Tea Party members and the inclusive insult to SCV members. I am not a Tea Party or SCV member, but I agree with many of each groups positions.

Now this "gentleman" has communicated with another state employee and referred to my communications as possibly a "practical joke" and has claimed that he was not the source of the email and it must have been forwarded from another source. The email came from a state web server and is clearly from this person. I presume he is unaware that it is very simple to trace an email, especially one sent from a network directly back to the workstation that was the source of the message.

I'm considering pursuing this further, at least to the point of making interested parties, such as the Tea Party executives in the effected state, the SCV commander in the effected state and the state historical commission executives aware of this person's inappropriate use of his position and the state's computer system.

I am honestly concerned that this person may do injustice to Civil War veterans during the upcoming sesquicentennial. Apparently, he holds extremely liberal political views, which in this case translate into an anti-Southern bias or even a self-loathing.

I could use some words of wisdom, but I don't feel that I can do nothing. This person has so misused their position that I feel I must make someone aware.
