I don't trust the telling of the tale either. Now that we've seen so many 'asides' added to the displays in the battlefield museums or information centers it's sure to have a PC stamp of approval on it. If it's PC, it's not top quality in my opinion.
They started adding more info on the slavery story to battlefield shops and I've found at Barrancas they do not have the different NPS battlefield guides like they used to. Those were very helpful to we who have not been there or did and did not know what we were a seeing. Instead of adding to the supply of printed material, they substituted and it's stuff on slavery, the Buffalo Soldiers and other non specific material.

All of that other 'fluff' is ok at any other place but a Battlefield should only include the material of interest to that site or the military role in the war. Of course, they don't ask our opinion.
