I had some 4th grade PATS students try to use Wiki as a source for reports. I told em if that's what they used, the report would go into the trash and they'd best not try it on another teacher. One had an ancestor coming through Ellis Island in 1865. I rejected it and told the kid she was in the "Gifted" program for a reason. Her gift was to use her brain on resources that were reliable to make a report, not Wikipedia. She still didn't get that Ellis Island was not open in 1865 after I gave her the book on Ellis Island and had her read the paragraph out loud to me on when it opened.

These are the 'gifted' that are going to be our leaders? I'm kinda glad I'm old.
