Law suits have been filed and lost on “freedom of speech” issues. One such case many years ago was for the right to fly the Confederate Battle Flag (Naval Jack) at Point Lookout National Cemetery 24/7. Point Lookout Cemetery is the only VA cemetery where the internments are 100% Confederate. VA policies allow the flying of Confederate flags twice a year. A gentleman who has a Confederate ancestor took the VA to court using freedom of speech (expression) as the basis of the suit and made its way to the Supreme Court where it was denied a hearing. It’s amazing that the most powerful government on the earth is so afraid of one flag.
