Lieutenant Giles was indeed quick on the draw. He was also quite lucky. Captain Pearson's father-in-law was a Provost Marshal in those parts. My g-uncle James K. Morrow was a Lieutenant in Company G of the 3rd. I'm still researching the guerrilla warfare between Captain Tim Lyons of Company C and John Jackson Kirkland, former Lieutenant of the 3rd TN Mounted Infantry CSA. Like George Martin said on the TN Board, these things move with glacial slowness.....lol,lol,lol.
