I recall that James Knox Morrow was quite the gun fighter himself. He killed Captain Harlan Boone of the 25th NC Infantry and crippled Captain James W. Cooper of Thomas' Legion in a gunfight in Murphy North Carolina. They were some wild and wooly times.
