Re: More detail... (The things I don't know.)

Don't get me wrong the Flag of the United States is what it is. It is the symbol of my country and my homeland because my state is a part of that Union today. It deserves that respect. I will render that respect by standing at attention during the recital of the Pledge of Alliegience. But that is about as far as I will go.

I will render unto Ceaser what is Ceasers.

It does not deserve Undieing devotion nor my unwavering alliegience. It is the symbol of a country run by a government of men whose ideas of how this country should be governed is becoming more and more hostile to the manner in which it was set forth. Our Bill of Rights freedoms are being eroded each day. So long as its governing body abides by the Constitution I can give it my trust. But my trust is being tested each day and it is only the hope for tomorrow that still abides in me. When that is gone I will be like my Great Grandfathers.

Our forefathers saw this in their day and chose to form their own country and were forced at the point of a brutal war and a bayonet to rejoin the country that they had chosen to leave. Right, Wrong or indifferent, this country has in the past and can be in the future hostile to its people. Therefore I do not pledge my undieing devotion or alliegience to its flag.
