Correct...THEY (non-civil war period writers or collectors) are claiming these items to be "Dog River" swords. When the use of this practice began it was limited to collectors, and was not damaging to our craft. However, like the post I linked to, the use of terms like "Dog River Arsenal" is going to be very confusing and damaging to research history. The term "Dog River" was used by someone from the period, and we do not know what it meant at that time. Now, its grown into something most probably very incorrect.
