David, I just want to let you know I found some new information on my ancestors who served in the 1st Regiment Mississippi Militia under Lt. Colonel Neilson. I was aware that my 2nd great-grandfather Robert Middleton Roberts served in that command but I have recently learned that my 3rd great-grandfather, Richard Chaddick also served in that command. Now here is where it ties into the WBTS. The sons of these two men (John Roberts and Richard Chaddick II) served side by side in Company C of my beloved 7th Mississippi.

As most of you know my great-grandfather John Roberts married Richard Chaddick II's daughter Laura Amelia Chaddick in 1888. Two wars, four friends and one marriage later the seed was sewn that produced, dare I say it?... Me LOL!

I want to bring you up to date on what I have learned about Robert Middleton Roberts. According to the Mississippi Historical Register he was a Sgt. and served as an orderly and saw action at the Battle of New Orleans. I also wish to add I still use your website on the War of 1812. Don't ever dare take it down :-)
