A little behind!

On this date 150 years ago, Blackburn`s Ford proved to be a test for the upcoming battle at Manassas, Virginia. McDowell`s Union forces were encamped at nearby Centerville, and a small party of soldiers were sent forward to examine the area around Blackburn`s Ford. The men met Confederates under the command of James Longstreet and heavy skirmishing ensued during which the Federals lost 19 men and sustained 38 wounded. The rebels had 15 fatalities and 53 injured, but suceeded in pushing the Union troops back. In addition, a small clash occurred at Mitchell`s Ford.
