A friend of mine just visited Carnton in Franklin. She asked why there were so many pennies on the graves. She said she and her husband thought if it wasn't a ritual with a reason, it was disrespectful. I sort of agree but don't really know. Does anyone here know why there are pennies on the graves that Carrie McGavock tended to well?
