Colonel Julius Caesar Bonaparte Mitchell, C.S.A.
Description Although Mitchell was photographed with the insignia of a general, he never rose above the rank of colonel in the 34th Alabama Infantry. Major campaigns and battles of the 34th Alabama include Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge, the Atlanta campaign, Franklin, and Nashville. Sources: Brewer, Willis.
