I cannot imagine how they could keep an accurate account. With so many showing up in other units and listed in their own as 'awol' or absent, it's just mind boggeling. Then you have to take into account how many may have not gone home bacause there was no home left or those who took off to the Hills or to the West and just weren't around when the census taker showed up there is no way on earth to know the exact number.

Haven't they already figured 58,000 on The Wall was a little bit short? I mean, they kept better records in the 1960'/70's too.
