This makes me begin to feel sympathetic towards Anderson, but in view of the immense suffering (particularly by Southerners), it is real easy to get bored with his personal tragedy. While he might have had a stroke of conscience, there were many thousands of Northerners who were persecuted and prosecuted simply for believing the invasion was un-Constitutional and immoral. Some of them were probably heroes.
