Another vessel gets by...

A sloop loaded with wood, and manned by a slave, ran into the harbor of Charleston, on Friday, April 12th, 1861 (DURING THE BOMBARDMENT)-- it took four hits but mananged to make into the city. When asked why he would risk his life..."must go to de town to-night...If anybody hurt dis chile or dis boat, massa see him about it shuah."
