Grant and Lincoln

Like I said before, Robert E. Lee was the only general who killed more Yankee soldiers than Grant. When you think about the carnage in the East alone, it is a wonder Northerners chose to re-elect Lincoln, in spite of all the other political aspects of the election. Why? The regime demonstrated many times in 1861 that it was not above rigging elections. Perhaps that played into 1864.
