On this date 150 years ago, Savannah Harbor was the scene of efforts by Federals to prevent shipping access; seven stone-laden vessels were sunk in the harbor entrance.

On Green River in Kentucky, there was a battle which left 10 Union soldiers dead and 17 wounded. Confederate loses in the exchange totaled 33 killed and 55 wounded.
