I'm with you Joe. I've been at events before where I requested that my unit not be even close to some other idiots on the line the next day. We are National Civil War Artillery Association certified. And we have participated with the NPS in some monument dedication ceremonies and living history events. They are very strict. Artillery is a dangerous affair whether live or blank rounds. When sombody loses a hand, arm, or some fingers, like at Plymouth, NC last year, promoters start looking at artillery a little differently. What was a big draw has now become a big liability. One of my neighbors is a captain in a Virginia infantry group. He told me once..." we are in awe of you guts that deal with pounds of powder at a time."
