Those are both pitiful. Really pitiful. They do seem so harsh considering the age of those 'kids'. I guess since in most areas and aspects of life the age 'children' were expected to produce income was so much younger than we are used to now it didn't come under the catagory of 'just a dumb kid' act that we see excused every day now. There were soldiers of those ages on both sides. Prison for the duration of the war would have been harsh but that way they at least may have survived. Tis a shameful thing to hang a child.
