Well there's a "smoking gun" to the demise of the Hunley. Drop that down the hatch of a oxygen starved iron tube full of exhausted men---- Battery Marshall reported seeing the agreed to light signal and acknowledgement from the Hunley (whatever that was). I'm skeptical about your claim that most modern historians believed it was a blue oil-fired lantern--- blue phosphorus light is what I've read (whatever that is).
