The old Irish street ballad, "The Dreadful Engagement", performed by David Kincaid, is of the tells of dreadful losses of Irish soldiers in the Confederate Army in a fictional battle-- it mentions a siege of New Orleans on the 9th of May,- New Orleans was under attack from April 29th to May 2nd, 1862-- This ballad is interesting for its vivid image of no quarter by Federal soldiers to these one hundred Irish.
