Re: Is the Constitution Broken?
In Response To: Is the Constitution Broken? ()

The Constitution was broken in 1861 when the idea that the federal Government could use force and intimidation to exact a specific course of action from the independent and sovereign states.

The Constitution was broken when that Government thought it could declare war against it own states. The only war the the Constitution allows is against foriegn nations. It does not allow the federal government to fight a "Civil War" for no such thing exists nor is it permitted under our Constitution.

We have lived under a illusion of a "Constitutional" government since 1865. A government that abides by that Constitution only so long as it suits them and is not restrained by that document when it does not suit their purposes. When the Government we are subject and forced to live under is not constrained by the limits of its authority that are outlined in that Constitution. And when the rights, granted to the people under that document, are subject to limitations, interpretations and clarifications of that same government and not the understanding of the people themselves, THEN

THE CONSTITUTION IS BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
