Edward, the 3rd Arkansas replaced the 18th Georgia in the Texas Brigade after Antietam, when it was decided troops from each state should be in the same brigades. There is probably still some argument about which of these regiments was called affectionately the "The 3rd. Texas". Maybe it was both. Stan
