I'd heard the same thing, Edward. Both were excellent regiments. BTW, General Gordon was wounded five times at the Bloody Lane, the last time in the face. He said he almost drowned in his own blood when he fell into his kepi and it filled with his blood. He very likely would have died from his wounds, but Mrs. Gordon came and stayed with him until he healed. You should read his memoir, if you get a chance. Stan
