Just curious, but what was the allegation? Was it drunkeness? Or am I getting this incident confused with another maybe at Shiloh just a month later?

It seems strange that Henry Halleck would prefer such charges without good reason because of the political connections involved. Or was maybe a little jealousy involved in Halleck against Grant?
