Re: Civil War Reinactment needed DEEP South Texas

I find it strange that my post on the Texas in the Civil War finds it's way onto the News & Views BB, one I divested myself from some time back, but powers that be...

In respect to the webmaster, (and everyone else) I think it fair that post's between Bert and myself should be completely deleted, but not my call. My only mistake was posting while suffering a severe tooth-ache! Done over again, I would change HOW I said what I said, not what I said.

OK, before I leave, I do ask how many people were murdered over the Tariff issue in Texas during the Texas Troubles/Secession crisis, as opposed to those hunted down and killed over the Slavery issue?
None that I know of.

I also have to ask what were Bert's, mine, or any of your ancestors buying/importing that cost so much to start a war over?

Why do State (especially Texas and Mississippi) Secession declarations talk so little of Tariffs, but mention slavery so much?
Respectfully:

Kevin Dally
